In July 2021, Protègèm Dance School had the extraordinary opportunity to participate in a mass movement performance at the prestigious British Grand Prix held at Silverstone Circuit. This event was part of the [Pro-Excel initiative](https://pro-excel.co.uk/2020/12/10/dance-at-a-formula-one-grand-prix-2021), which brings together young dancers from across the UK to perform at major sporting events.
On 17th July 2021, our dancers joined hundreds of others to deliver a captivating performance that showcased their talent and dedication. The atmosphere was electric, with the roar of Formula 1 cars providing a unique backdrop to the rhythmic movements on the track. A snippet of the performance can be viewed here.
Being part of such a high-profile event offered our students invaluable experience and exposure. Performing at the British Grand Prix not only enhanced their confidence but also allowed them to be part of a historic sporting occasion. The 2021 British Grand Prix was notable for the dramatic collision between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, an incident that became a defining moment in Formula 1 history. More details on the race can be found on the BBC Sport website.
Reflecting on this experience, we are inspired to continue seeking opportunities that challenge and elevate our dancers. The 2021 British Grand Prix performance stands as a testament to the hard work and passion of our students and instructors. We look forward to future collaborations that allow us to share our love for dance on such grand stages.
